I have my cats well trained. They come home at about 5 or 6, when I get home from work, usually they are there waiting for me but if not I just call them once and they come running inside. I then close the doors and the windows, give them some food and let them out again the following morning.
It works very well – except when it does not work!!!!
If one of them does not come home when I call I begin to panic. They are usually so prompt that I think something must be wrong. Last night I was about to put up Missing Posters all over the neighbourhood (again). Miss Molly still was not home by 8pm and I had called and called. Every 15 minutes from about 6 but that is beside the point.
Eventually at about 8:30 she wondered in looking all smug! Hmph – how to set me off into a panic.
Here are some photo’s of my muppets!

My art classes that I usually go to weekly have been cancelled for the remainder of the year. Boo Hoo. I really enjoy them.
So last night we decided that seeing as we don’t seem to paint much when we were there anyway we may as well just meet up at somebody’s house and eat, drink and chat.
I invited everyone round to my house and it was quite fun. But also quite interesting; at first it was a bit stilted. It was as though without the art we had nothing really to talk about. Which is odd seeing as it is not art we talk about anyway. But after a few minutes things settled down and we all chatted like we normally do.
We began discussing how long we had been going to the art classes. Out of the girls that were there I had been going for the 2nd longest – having started in 2000. One of the other girls started about 3 years before that. She was a friend of mine and the reason I joined. The others varied from about 6 or 7 years to 3 years. So, we have seen each other every week for the past how many years and this was the first time we have met up socially.
Hopefully it is something we will keep up, no matter what happens to our art classes.

Please, please, please don’t tell Mr OL about this post!!!!
I forgot about my scan this morning……. Yip, after giving him so much grief about forgetting the 20 week scan a few weeks ago I did the same thing today. I am going to blame porridge brain or hormones or something if he finds out, but lets hope he lives in ignorance. I don’t think I will ever live it down.
I was sitting at work chatting to one of the girls and she asked how the baby is growing, I said “Fine I have a scaaaaaaa………..OH CRAP!!!!” I ran out the room and straight to the phone. Luckily for me the Doctor could reschedule so I went this afternoon instead.
All is fine and baby is growing at the rate it is supposed to.
Porridge Brain has hit!! I even forgot to ask for the scan picture after all of that.

I have been busy at work today playing with graphs!!! Something I actually really enjoy doing. But is does mean that I have been too busy to blog.
Not that it matters, I did not get up to much over the weekend anyway.
I went shopping (which I detest!!!!) and I went out for breakfast with a friend (which I really enjoyed).
Other than being locked out of my house of Friday because the power was off (again) and our battery backup on our garage motor seems to have packed up, it was a pretty uneventful weekend.
I do have a very happy husband though because Liverpool won against Manchester United last night. So it is smiles all around.

This morning our neighbour’s car was parked in my work parking lot. The mother-in-law who lives with them was sitting in the car so I went over to say hello. 15 Minutes later (late for work) I was freaked out!!! That woman knows everything about us.
A few things that came up in the conversation.
There was some other stuff as well but I was freaking out a bit and I was late for work so stopped paying attention.
Oh yes, a whole lot of stuff about our cats. Miss Molly and the other one….. and the fact that when Mr OL comes home from work he picks Miss Molly up and she will stay with him for a little while but then starts to want to get down.
Talk about Neighbourhood! Who needs a private security firm….. It is actually good though. When our pipes were stolen she was the one that phoned the police and us to let us know (how she knew were we worked still baffles us – although with the above evidence it should maybe not).

In just over 5 weeks my sister comes home – only for a week, but at least it is something. That also means that…
In just over 5 weeks my brother is getting married. The 2nd one of us siblings to take the leap! Yikes…. That also means that …
In just 5 weeks I need to have found something to wear to the wedding that suits my by then 27 week pregnant bump!! Yikes….

I don’t really have very much to say at the moment.
My In-laws came down for the weekend and bought us a cot for the baby, which was very nice of them. It was also nice to see them as we don’t meet up that often – maybe twice a year. Mr OL’s mom is so excited about becoming a granny it is very sweet. We will have to make more of an effort once the baby is born to ensure that they see their grandchild more than they are seeing their son at present.
I also did a bit of shopping for the baby but I realized I am way out of my depth!! I have NO idea what these little creatures need. Some serious research is going to need to be done before now and February. I bought what I thought was important though – a baby monitor. Other than that I have borrowed a few things but will only start buying anything much later.
Also in a place where I felt totally out of my depth – I went to a spa on Friday. Nice but not really my scene; I would rather go for a sports massage than a spa treatment. It was ok though.
I also finished the second book in the trilogy that I am reading. I have decided that I am not enjoying it, not because it is badly written or anything like that, but once I start a book I need to finish it in a couple of days. Fine if you only have one book to read but with this the story continues over the 3 books and I need some closure. 3 books is a long time for continous reading – so I have ½ of the final book left! Let’s hope she actually finishes the story and does not leave me hanging. I might just put me off fantasy books for life.
The yesterday I also did a bit of gardening. My peas that I planted have germinated so I planted the seedlings. I also planted some spinach, lettuce, cauliflower (a first for me) and some peppers. Let’s see what happens. I don’t usually have much luck with peppers, but am going to plant them in a different part of the garden and see if that makes any difference.
Ok, so from not much to say I got a bit carried away.
Hope you all had a good a weekend as I did.

Urgh!! I have been without internet for the past two day and it has been horrid. It has finally come back on about 10 minutes ago and now I don’t have the time to write a proper post.
So – once I have recovered from my withdrawal symptoms I promise a proper post….

On Friday night Mr OL and I went on a cooking course at The Pastryworks.
The theme was Vietnamese and Cambodian – YUMMY!!! The way it worked was quite interesting. The chef, Ralph (big German guy) did not do a demonstration, rather each couple was given one or two recipes depending on their complexity and you had to prepare the dish on the recipe. If you required help or there were techniques on there that were not standard he would come around to you and show you.
It worked pretty well as you then got to taste the food that everybody else had made and so tasted about 8 or 9 different dishes. The food we made had a lot of coconut, fish sauce, oyster sauce and lemon grass; pretty much what I would have considered the flavours of Thailand. I suppose most of the southern Asian cultures use similar ingredients.
We had a great time, you can take your own wine or in my case Appletiser and it is a social evening. By the end you have made friends with everyone round the table.
We will most definitely do that again. Here is a link to The Pastryworks website. They do all sorts of things, including corporate functions (guess what we are doing for our Christmas function this year…..)
