Me

Me

An ordinary girl from an ordinary family, living in an ordinary town trying to make this life extraordinary!

A born and bred PE girl who, whilst in my 20′s, traveled around the world for a number of years.  What was intended to be a one year stint in London ended up taking me away from home for 8 years.  I lived and worked in 6 different countries and traveled to quite a  few more, but home is best and I returned to Port Elizabeth in 2000.

I got married in 2007 and in February 2010 Mr OL and I had our first child – a girl - Little OL – to add to our already large family which consists of the two of us, two cats and two dogs.  Life is never quiet.  Which is just the way I like it.

  5. Hi PJ. Just stopped by via 6000s blog. I, too, was born in PE. Moved away when I was about 8 and have finally settled down at the age of 38… in Melbourne. Seeing your photos of PE make me miss home, but luckily I’ll be there for 3 weeks in March!

Good luck with the Ironman, I’ll be following your blog with interest and great expectations!

  11. That was a great read! You’ve had a really exciting time so far but what about the poor Swede???!!!

  12. Hi Helen. I know, I felt really bad about leaving him, especially so suddenly. But I felt it was for the best. The problems I felt in Sweden would have been the same for him if we had both come back here. We are still in touch though, and he has a beautiful 5 year old boy.

  13. Hey there! Great prologue! Wow – your life sounds kinda similar to mine, and also worlds apart!! If that makes any sense at all! I was raised in Joburg, and hot-tailed it outta there as soon as I matriculated. I chose my university (Cape-Town) based on how far it was from Joburg! After 4 yrs studying physio, I hot footed it to the UK where I travelled, worked, partied, travelled a bit more…. then dumped my long term boyfriend and travelled some more. Then back to London, settled into a good physio job, married a good englishman, produced 3 sprogs in 4 years…. and last year, I dragged them all back home with me! To Joburg! And I am HOME!!! I love it! I will add you to my blog roll! LOVE the scan pic BTW – you have exciting times ahead!! x-x
