Papa don’t preach!

I went to another dress up party this weekend!! This time it was an 80’s theme but I did not take any photos.

I went all Cindy Lauper’ish – looking more 80’s than I did in the 80’s when pretty much all I wore was jeans and a t-shirt (something have not changed that much).

When we first walked in there were a group of about 10-15 people standing near the entrance and NONE of them were dressed up.  OH CRAP!! Here I am looking like a freak show and nobody has dressed.  Hmph!!!  Mr OL looked at me in horror and muttered some not very nice words.  I braved it and walked in to look for the host of the party to find out if I had missed out on some memo or something.

Luckily as I walked further in there were more people dressed up.  PHEW!  Some people had really gone to town with their outfits and all in all it was a pretty good party.  They really should have moved the party-poopers away from the entrance though. Everyone I spoke to had the same stomach dropping sensation when they walked in and saw nobody dressed.

I was thinking I should have dressed like Madonna in “Papa don’t Preach” because I am most definitely keeping this baby!!!

Robbie does it again…

Ok, so I can’t even attempt to deny it any more.  I am a serious fan!!

This time it is an advert so probably has more to do with the Vodacom advertising agency but I think it is brilliant!  I enjoyed the first Player 23 advert, but find this one more entertaining.

Probably only appeals to your South African audience, but hey, they have their target market pegged.  Well, kind off.  I am not (much of) a rugby supporter but at the moment Robbie can do no wrong!

So enjoy – the latest Vodacom Player 23 advert with Robbie Wessels

From me to you…

CentreStage is a Port Elizabeth group made up of numerous musicians and singers, that performs cover shows.  They take a theme or a band or even a number of bands and make a show out of that.  They are very good and very entertaining and a good evening out.

The problem we have found lately though is that we have seen most of their performances.  This has thankfully been solved.  They have a couple of new shows on the line up!  Yippee!!!

The first of which was the Beatles, which we went to watch on Friday night.  It was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!  Well, besides their dodgy attempted Liverpudlian acsents, although even though were entertaining.

They started with the music from the 60’s and then after the break and a costume change went onto music from the 70’s!  I loved it!  Even if at one stage I was battling to keep my eyes open.  It was not a problem with the show at all, but more the fact that I had come straight from the beach and a long sea swim.  Thank fully the problem was solved when they told every one to stand up and dance.  Nothing wakes me up like a bit of bopping around.  I can seriously recommend this show if you get a chance to go.

They also have 2 more new shows coming up – ABBA and U2!  I can’t wait.

Talking about our sea swim; it was great – the water was crystal clear and beautiful.  I even managed to keep my eyes open and look around – so worth it.  We saw a sting ray as well as quite a few fish.  We did our normal swim twice – which meant that I was running rather late and the only way I would make the show was to shower at the beach and change in my car.  Besides the wet hair I don’t think anybody noticed.
